Janet Armentano is a passionate and experienced art teacher. She loves mentoring and making unique connections with her students. She has taught art of many mediums and levels for the past thirty-five years. She retired from Wayland High School in Massachusetts, where she taught for sixteen years. She also taught in the public schools in West Hartford, Connecticut, and Holliston, Massachusetts. She has had much experience teaching semi-private and private lessons and workshops to children, teens, and adults. Janet holds a BFA from the University of Connecticut, and holds a Masters of Education in Studio Art from the University of Hartford and from Framingham State University.

Congratulations to HeatherAnne Lee for being awarded an amazing scholarship to attend Savannah College of Art and Design in the fall of 2021. Heatheranne's outstanding portfolio earned her a scholarship of $19,000 for each of her 4 years (that's $76,000)! You will see HeatherAnne's artwork under the "Classes, Camps and Photos" tab. Her dedication, motivation and hard work made this possible and I am very, very proud of this young lady.
Janet is proud of the numerous art awards her students have won. She has helped students earn acceptances and scholarships to colleges based on the student’s artwork. In 2016, Janet’s Wayland High School students were awarded forty-two Regional Scholastic Art Awards, including a National Medal. To achieve this honor of a National Art Medal, one’s art must top 1% of the art judged across the country. These awards are displayed below:
Janet’s Advanced Placement Art students earned outstanding scores on their portfolios, all of whom were offered scholarships to art schools including Rhode Island School of Design, Parsons, Pratt, Savannah College of Art, Mass.
